home - an online exhibition at acogedor.space
'home' brought together artworks created during the COVID-19 worldwide lock-down (March 13, 2020) by 42 artists residing in five countries. Reflecting on the concept of “home” during this new and bizarre time, the artists share their experiences of home.
When hearing the word “home” we often think of the place where we reside. When the “Shelter-At-Home” orders came in throughout the country and world, many of us found ourselves adapting to a new way of living where we did pretty much everything from a single place––for some, a single room. 'home' became a place of both respite and stress, leaving us with the necessity to find new ways to be at home.
The curatorial exhibition framework was organized into four areas: Little Gestures, Time, Connections, and The In-Between. These areas were less categories and more like “essences” and served as a means to further the exploration of the artists’ experiences and work.
Exhibition included eight Instagram Takeovers by artists.

Co-curators Christian Cummings and Doug Harvey sent out a chain letter. It circulated among artists and art enthusiasts, inviting recipients to participate in an exhibition. In addition, each recipient was to invite 10 artists who they admired, to participate in the same exhibition.
